Reggie Bibbs playing innocent like he wasn’t responsible for eating all those chili samples in front of him. You could have saved some for the rest of us!
The Just Ask Tour rolled into the Cottonwood Restaurant in Houston, TX today to help support one of our biggest supporters, the Pysch Ward Sirens and the Houston Roller Derby!
Today, Reggie and I sampled some of the best chili in the history of Psych Ward Sirens Annual Chili Cook-Off!
It was so great seeing our old friends and meeting new ones! One of the great things about driving around the country promoting awareness of neurofibromatosis is meeting all of the wonderful, compassionate people who come up to just ask us about NF.
It was so nice to see former skater and new mom, Laurentina Marquardt at the cook-off with her two-month old baby! Congratulations!!!
Had a lot of fun with the guys at the Derby Brothers Booth! We didn’t stay till the end but it would be my guess that these guys won again, for like the sixth straight year!
Our best buddy, Misty “Mistilla the Killa” Moody was there to greet us and talk for a bit! Mistilla is one of the original founding members of the Houston Roller Derby.Goldiblox and Sick Nick!
“May 17th was World Neurofibromatosis (NF) Awareness Day and the Psych Ward Sirens celebrated with long time Siren fan Reggie Bibbs.
Reggie lives with NF and is the founder of the Just Ask! Foundation. Just Ask! is a non-profit organization dedicated to spreading awareness about NF through the people most affected by it.
You’ll often see Reggie at bouts with his friend Lou Congelio. Reggie and Lou were named Super Fans of Houston Roller Derby at the league’s awards banquet earlier this year.
Ok, this is Lou talking now and I want to thank Rod “Dirty Sanchez” Lozano for putting together a night that Reggie and I will not soon forget!
As soon as we got through the doors, we were greeted by Rod with the wonderful poster card you see in the photograph signed by all the members of the Sirens.
The Psych Ward Sirens and Reggie!
But it didn’t stop there, Rod then set up an impromptu photo sessionwhere all of the Sirens came to get their photo taken with Reggie!
Then, on top of that, Rod bought two Just Ask tshirts and made a MAJOR contribution to the Just Ask Mobile Bus Fund!!!
Thank you, Rod, “Dirty” and all of the Sirens for an incredible evening of love, friendship, and the best Derby action on the Planet Earth!!!
Last night’s Houston Roller Derby championship bout between the Psych Ward Sirens and the Bayou City Bosses was one for the ages! I thought the Sirens just might pull it out in the end but with 45 seconds left in the bout, two Sirens were in the penalty box allowing Death by Chocolate to run out the clock.
Both teams rocked last night! Although the Sirens may not of won, they certainly came out as winners. I’ve never seen more heart and passion in a sport than what I saw last night. I think Mistilla the Killa gave Holla-Pain-Yo a complex last night! Every time I looked up, Mistilla was introducing Holla-Pain-Yo to the floor. And Carmen Geddit was steady as a rock!!! All night long. Never giving up. Incredible performance! Jekyll & Heidi had an incredible jam in the first half helping to keep the score close. Congratulations to the Bosses! Both teams played their hearts out.
You can now help support Reggie’s and the Just Ask! Foundation’s message of getting the word out about NF and help those affected by this all too common and little understood disorder.
Your purchase of a shirt, mug, or any other of our items allows Reggie and the Foundation to carry on the good work that Reggie and Lou started over a decade ago!
