#TBT to a Presidential Proclamation for NF Awareness

Remember that time Reggie used his political prowess to encourage a presidential proclamation for National Neurofibromatosis Awareness Month? We do!

#TBT to 1992, featuring future president George W. Bush, Dorothy, and Reggie Bibbs sharing in the preparation for the official proclamation for Texas NF Day. His father, the current president proclaimed November National NF Awareness Month shortly thereafter.

“National Neurofibromatosis Awareness Month, 1992. By the President of the United States of America
A Proclamation: This week we pause to reaffirm our Nation’s commitment to the fight against neurofibromatosis, a common genetic disorder that affects the nervous systems of more than 100,000 Americans.”

Just Ask Goes Global

It seems that not only was Reggie’s courageous story of founding the Just Ask Foundation featured in the Houston Chronicle, but it has also been picked up by nine publications and counting!

The Washington TimesMiami HeraldSacramento BeeKansas City Star, and the Texarkana Gazette all ran Reggie’s most recent interview with the Houston Chronicle. Even a couple leading German publications such as Bild and NewsDE featured Reggie! And the UK’s Disability Today also spotlighted what Reggie is doing for NF Awareness.

The Just Ask Foundation is extremely grateful that this story enthralled both a culturally and geographically diverse audience and helped to continue our mission of spreading awareness of neurofibromatosis.

If you have seen any other newspapers, magazines, or websites with Reggie’s interview, we’d love to recognize them as well!

The Just Ask World Tour depends upon your support to help spread hope and increase awareness of NF, domestically and internationally. Currently, renovations on the interior of the bus are still underway, so any support is greatly appreciated. As always, Just Ask is accepting gracious donations via Paypal and GoFundMe. Just Ask Goes to Church

The Just Ask team had a great day at Second Baptist Church. We met a lot of people in Reggie W. Bibbs bible study group but were very impressed by how friendly everybody was. I felt like we were in the middle of a Reggie Bibbs Fan Club convention. We couldn’t take two steps without someone coming up and saying hi. But we were blown away when Dr. Young recognized Reggie from the pulpit and proceeded to tell the congregation that Reggie was his hero for everything he is doing to raise awareness of NF.
