MTV Wants to Tell Your Story!

673px-mtv-logosvgDear Reggie,

I am writing to you because my company, Gigantic! Productions, is working on a new episode of the documentary series “True Life” for MTV. In this particular episode, we are focusing on young people suffering from Neurofibromatosis. We are currently looking for one or two more individuals to feature in the show. During the course of our research, we found you. We were wondering if you might be willing to share your story with us. We were also wondering if you would be willing to share the casting announcement (pasted below) with your online community, your friends, family, and doctors that you know.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to write to me. I greatly appreciate your taking the time to look this over. Yours sincerely, Lorrie Grace McCann

True Life: I Have Neurofibromatosis

Are you living with Neurofibromatosis? Do you have visible tumors or spots on your skin that you wish you could get rid of for good? Were you recently diagnosed with NF, or have you had it as long as you can remember? Are you planning on having surgery to remove a tumor or undergoing treatment to stop its growth? Is NF causing problems for you at school, at work, or in social situations? If so, MTV wants to hear your story. If you appear to be between the ages of 16 and 25, please email casting@gigantic.tv with the details. Please include your name, location, phone number and photograph if possible.

  1. I’m excited about this. Maybe this is something John Parker and Kim Chain would want to be a part of. I hope so. John would you like to give them a call as well?

  2. Gee, I may be out of their age range, looked like they wanted to use 16-25. I think they should come to out camp to see a wide range of nf. There will be many that would fall in that age group.

  3. WOW!!!!!! This is GREAT!!!!!

  4. I think Reggie would be great doing this although he is much older than what they are looking for.

  5. If they would come to camp, they would have many choices to choose from at one place, at the same time.

  6. I think everything depends on how many replies they get. From what I have read from the producer, they are getting a large amount of replies. That is good news.

  7. I think this is great. A summer conferance last summer. The groups were talking about how it would be great if MTV would have something like this focusing on people with disabilites. First when we came back it was focus on hearing imparied. Now this, it is great. Alot of people do not know about it.

  8. This is great!!! I found the website Inspire through this as well. I’m out of the age range…but it did say “appears” to be between the ages of 16- 25. I’m going to submit my story for them and find a youthful picture of me…gonna out my asian genes to work. :o)
